Azize üç çocuğu ve kayınvalidesi ile zorlu bir mücadelenin içinde bulur kendini... Canından çok sevdiği kocası Cevdet'in yokluğuyla ve savaş yıllarının zorluklarıyla mücadele ederek yetiştirir çocuklarını. 1919 yılında, Yıldız (Pınar Deniz) güzeller güzeli, gözü yükseklerde bir genç kız, Hilal ise memleket sevdalısı mücadeleci bir genç kız olmuştur. Ali Kemal ise gönlündeki aşk acısıyla ve kendisine dair öğrendiği hazin sırla yaşamaya çalışan serseri bir mayın gibidir. Azize her birinin dertleriyle uğraşmaya çalışırken, İzmir’in Yunanlılar tarafından işgal edileceği haberi ile sarsılırlar. Oysa bu işgal onlara yıllar önce kaybettikleri birini geri getirecektir.
