Η Ρουγιά είναι μια ήσυχη κοπέλα που ζει στο Βερολίνο μαζί με τον πατέρα της, τον Αγιάζ Κιράν. Όταν η Ρουγιά θα μάθει ότι η μητέρα της –την οποία δεν γνώρισε ποτέ– είναι ζωντανή και βρίσκεται στη Συρία, η ζωή της θα ανατραπεί. Η Ρουγιά θα κάνει ό,τι είναι δυνατό για να μπορέσει να ζει τη μητέρα της. Το χωριό στο οποίο μένει όμως εκείνη βρίσκεται υπό κατοχή και ο μόνος τρόπος για θα μπορέσει να μπει στο χωριό είναι να παντρευτεί με ψεύτικο γάμο τον Μποράν.Η Ρουγιά, που μέχρι εκείνη την ημέρα ζούσε και ανέπνεε δίπλα στον πατέρα της, θέλει τώρα να αναζητήσει την μητέρα της, κάνοντας ένα εξαιρετικά επικίνδυνο ταξίδι. Στο ταξίδι αυτό, θα γνωρίσει τον Γιουσούφ, ο οποίος επιστρέφει στο σπίτι του μετά από έξι ολόκληρα χρόνια.
