The Man from Snowy River is een Australische televisieserie gebaseerd op het gedicht 'The Man from Snowy River' van Banjo Paterson. De televisieserie heeft geen relatie met de film The Man from Snowy River uit 1982 of het vervolg The Man from Snowy River II uit 1988. In plaats daarvan volgt de serie de avonturen van Matt McGregor, een succesvolle kraker, en zijn familie. Matt is de held die vereeuwigd is in Banjo Patersons gedicht 'The Man from Snowy River', en de serie speelt zich 25 jaar na zijn beroemde rit af. Het eerste seizoen was in feite een soapserie met verschillende verhaallijnen, maar het eerste seizoen gaat over de komst van Matts Amerikaanse neef, die uit is op wraak, ervan overtuigd dat Matt zijn vader heeft bedrogen uit de zender die Matt nu bezit.
