Tahir Kemal Bozoğlu cinayet masasının deneyimli, efsaneleşmiş baş komiseridir. Uzun yıllar Urfa'da görev yapan Tahir Baş Komiser, küçük kızının hasretine dayanamayarak boşandığı eşinin peşinden İstanbul'a tayinini ister. Göreve başlar başlamaz, beraber çalıştığı Komiser Ferit Çağlayan'ı, yaptığı bir hata sebebiyle görevden uzaklaştırır. Ferit kendisine örnek olarak gördüğü biri tarafından, sevdiği işinden uzaklaştırılmayı hazmedemez ve başka dünyalara dalar. Okul yıllarından beri birlikte olduğu olduğu Melike'yi unutmuş, karşısına çıkan Songül'ün peşine düşmüştür. Ancak Songül'ün kötü çevresi Ferit'i sarıp sarmalar. Tahir vicdan azabıyla Ferit'i bu durumdan kurtarmaya çalışırken, ailesi ile tanışır.
